Last friday ( 24/06/2016) , my classmate and I carry on an experiment in the biology lab during the first period in the morning. Everyone was very excited when we enter the biology lab , and ready to proceed the experiment. Our biology teacher ask us to prepare all the apparatus and the materials, but one of my classmate accidentally broke a boiling tube . After everyone had settle down, the teacher brief us about the experiment. We are going to carry out an experiment about to determine the energy in the food sample, we compare the energy in a peanut and a cashew nut. Although this is an individual experiment , my group and I still share the same fire to burn food sample.  We finished setting up the apparatus and then we only start the experiment. First we  spike the peanut firmly at the end of a pin which is mounted on some plasticine. Then we ignite the peanut by holding it in the flame of a bunsen burner , then immediately place it beneath the boiling tube to heat the water inside the boiling tube. we repeat the step again but using a cashew nut. The result is amazing, the peanut is able to heat the water until it reaches 55*C ,but the cashew nut is even unbelievable it can heat the water until its boiling point which is 100*C. It was a fun experiment , we are all excited for the next experiment.
