Making a pop-up card

A pop-up card is beautiful and it makes a great Mother's Day or birthday card. This card is very simple to make too. The supplies that you need are think, coloured paper, a pair of scissors, some glue, markers or crayons.

Fold two rectangular pieces of coloured paper in half. One piece will form the outside of the card while the other piece, the inside.

On the inside piece, cut two short lines near the middle of the fold you have made. Then fold the two outside flaps that you have just made but make sure you do not fold the middle flap. Next, unfold the paper.

Then open the card and push the two flaps towards the inside of the card. Next refold the card as you did originally. Then cut two short lines through the folded flaps on the sides. After that, fold the outside flaps that you just made. Then unfold the flaps once again. Open the card and push the flaps towards the inside of the card. They will form step like structures inside the card.

Then cut some flowers and leaves from the coloured paper You may decorate them with crayons or coloured pencils. Then glue these flowers to the card, making sure that the flowers do not stick out of the card when you close it. Finally, glue this card to the otherfolded paper, making sure that you do not glue the flaps.
