Use of machine is causing unemployment

A very good morning to the Headmaster, teachers and my fellow students. I am here to talk on how the use of machines is causing unemployment.

In today's modern age, machines are used in almost all fields of work. Where machines are used, manual labour is reduced. People have found that machines are very useful. Machines can work faster than humans and can increase production. This means that less salaries have to be paid.

When more machines are used, they replace humans. This definitely causes unemployment. For example, if machines such as tractors, ploughing and harvesting machines are used in fields. Only a few operators are needed to run the machines.

Other machines that have replaced manual labour are cement mixers, machines to fill and place caps on bottles, to wrap items and to label cans and bottles. You may say that people are still required to run or repair these machines. However, the number of people required for this purpose is small.

Therefore it is clear that the use of machines has reduced manual labour, causing unemployment.

  Thank you.
