Roads in Peninsular Malaysia

Peninsular Malaysia has a well-developed network of roads and highways. We are also connected by road to Thailand in the north and Singapore in the south. All the major cities and towns are linked by modern highways and even the smaller towns, villagers, plantations and remote parts of the countryside are linked by road.

In the larger cities one has to put up with the usual traffic jams but this mostly during peak hours. Many of the accidents are due to carelessness and recklessness. The speed limit on the expressways is usually 110 km per hour and road users have to pay a toll along the expressway.

Driving in peninsular Malaysia is very convenient. It us cheap and pleasant. You can take your time and stop anywhere you like to enjoy the scenery changes from lush, green forest and plantations to beautiful seaside coastline and villages.

Driving along the countryside can be great fun and is an excellent way to see the country.
